On December 4-5, a workshop about the final preparations of the micro-projects and their use in Belarusian schools took place in Grodno. On the first day of the workshop Inna Sorkina, PhD in History and Associate Professor held a lecture on the teaching about the Holocaust in schools. The historian works in one of the city's grammar schools. During her lessons, the participants will later present the results of their microprojects. A few years ago, Inna Sorkina took part in a seminar for teachers organized by Yad Vashem and dedicated to the problems of teaching the Holocaust. She noted an interesting trend in methods of working with children and adolescents: «Do not frighten the young audience with the horrors that took place in the death camps and ghettos. It is better to introduce such a complex historical topic to young people with the help of individual stories», says Inna Sorkina. Throughout the second day of the seminar, students worked in groups on presentations of their final projects.
