During the project, our team had the opportunity to record a podcast with poems by Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger, a representative of Jewish German-speaking literature in Chernivtsi, which is a part of our micro-project. When you hear the word «podcast», it may seem to be something very difficult, especially for a regular student, but when you start working with it, you realize that this is an engrossing task.
While recording the podcast, we have not only acquired some knowledge about recording techniques, but also tried to participate in the editing process. It was something new and unusual, and we enjoyed reading the poems and later re-listening to our versions. In our opinion, it was a wonderful experience which is now necessary in the world where everything is gradually digitalizing.
Our task was to read out Selma's poems, original ones and translated versions, so that people who are more prone to listen to information could also get acquainted with the poet's poems. Moreover, people will also be able to listen to a comment given by Prof. Peter Rychlo, who is closely related to Selma’s works, as he has translated many of them. It will be very helpful for those who want to gain a more profound understanding of Selma's world.
In general, none of us has had experience recording a podcast in the studio before, so this project helped us obtain new skills that are valuable in the modern world.
